It seems just like last week that I was driving to meet my niece for the first time. Now, just a short 12 months later, I am blogging about her first birthday. You may remember her bunny baby shower, as you can tell we loved the theme so much that we had to use it for yet another party.
For this bunny theme, we (my sister and I) decided to go a little more farmer’s market or springtime picnic, contrary to the vintage garden feel for the baby shower. There are so many great ideas for inspiration. I just love how the same “theme” can look so different!
It was so fun to create a hometown, country feel to the party with the gingham print table cloths and simple daisies in tin cans. You don’t have to break the bank when it comes to birthday parties. Homemade decorations or repurposed household items are a great way to use your resources and expand your creativity.
I was given these miniature watering can ornaments awhile ago and I hoped that I would be able to find use for them for something. With a little bit of felt and jute, we made a mobile which displayed some bunny’s month by month pictures.
Do these bunny silhouettes look familiar? That’s right! I hung on to them for the sole purpose that we may have some use for them again. I am glad that I was right!
Can you tell we are on a garland kick at the moment? They are just too cute not to add to the party though! For the dessert bar, we made a special veggie garland which we suspended behind our “marketplace”, that’s right the freshest goodies in town!
For the cake I went with a simple rustic buttercream design and jazzed it up a bit with some sugar vegetables and Oreo dirt.
We also made some gluten free, dairy free muffins for all the baby pals that attended the party. The sugar was for the adults.
Aren’t these garlands just the greatest? My sister does such a great job making them, you can tell how they add so much fun to a party.
The sugar cookies, come on to-die-for, airbrushed with gingham and hand painted with vegetables, these little guys always end up being the show stopper.
Thanks again for hopping by, remember He is risen!
