Winter Wonderland Cake

Keeping with the holiday spirit, we have another beautiful winter wedding cake today. The entire wedding was white and silver with hints of burgundy. I know what you are thinking, how glorious! The bride and her mother transformed this ballroom into a snowy wonderland, each table was decorated with a silver tree adorned with snowflakes, crystals and rhinestones. Entering the ballroom transported the guests to a frosted dream without the chill, of course.

For the cake, we dreamt up a white Christmas. Four tiers covered in sleek white fondant, the cake was then airbrushed in a gradient of silvery sheen. Hand-cut rice paper snowflakes and piped pearls delicately floated down the cake into a cluster of ribbon ruffles. I just love how this cake turned out. It reminds me of the great outdoors during a snowstorm. Have you ever noticed how still and quiet it gets when the snow falls? “All is calm, all is bright.”

Here are a few more shots of all the pretty details of this cake. One of my favorite details is the rhinestone monogram adorning the top like a star on a tree.

Here’s dreaming of a white Christmas, may they all be merry and bright.

  1. Everything you touch turns to gold (or, in this case, silver!) . . . your talent is simply beyond words.
