Today’s red, white, and blue feature comes just in time for America’s Independence Day. Maybe this post will give you some decorating inspiration for the 4th, or maybe just get you a little more excited as the day approaches.
A dear friend of mine has pulled off a few of these family dinner parties in the past year, you may remember the Lime and Licorice party from last July. Once again she has charmed us with her creativity on a budget that anyone could afford. This party she organized for her father-in-law’s birthday. What a perfect theme for a guy who enjoys his red lobster and Alaskan king crab.
The tables were neatly layered with table cloths and runners and decorated with a sea shell collection. The centerpieces, salt water taffy in a tin, I love it! Such a great way to add to the design of the table and stick with the theme.
For the cake, my friend wanted a King Crab, which seems fitting for the party. I added another tier of cake, the fishing tin, to make it look like the cute crustacean was the catch of the day. Unknown to me it went perfectly with the tin centerpieces on the rest of the tables.
This cake was fun to make and I am glad how it turned out, I am obsessed with his smile.
I am happy to share this post with you all today and thankful for my creative friend not only for supporting my little cake business with her orders but also for sharing these great photos of the party. Great job on everything!
