Traditional Pretty Cake

This weekend I had the opportunity to make a cake for not only a beautiful couple but also a beautiful wedding. The wedding was celebrated at the tuscan Westlake Village Inn. Guests overlooked a pond as they watched the couple recite their vows to each other in the lush green garden and then enjoyed cocktails to the sound of a trickling fountain and live music. One could not choose a more picturesque or romantic setting unless you were in Paris or Venice, of course.

The reception was hosted in the Lakeside Room, the couple and guests enjoyed the view of flora and water the whole night through.

The cake was four tiers of plain and quilted designs with an all-white monogram. Wrapped around each tier, gold ribbon to complement the gold pedestal stand (special thanks to my husband for his handywork). A fresh flower topper finished off the look while adding hints of soft pink to the white confection.
